About us

About DZSpotter

The global, community-maintained directory of skydiving dropzones. Built by skydivers, for skydivers.

Our mission

There is no single, comprehensive, global source of truth for skydiving dropzone information. Existing tools are US-only, have shallow data, haven't been updated in years, or bury dropzone info as a secondary feature. Skydivers currently have to visit ten different websites, call dropzones directly, or rely on outdated forum posts just to find basic facts: like the aircraft on fleet, current pricing, drop altitude, or whether a DZ allows hook turns.

DZSpotter exists to fix that. We're building the Wikipedia of skydiving dropzones: a single, always-accurate, community-maintained reference for every dropzone on the planet. Whether you're a student researching AFF courses, a licensed jumper travelling to a new country, or a tandem customer comparing prices, DZSpotter gives you the information you need in one place. Think of us as the global dropzone finder the skydiving community has always needed.

How it works

DZSpotter uses a Wikipedia-style edit system. Any logged-in user can suggest a change to any field on any dropzone listing: from aircraft and altitude to pricing, rules, and AFF availability. Every suggested edit goes into a moderation queue, where our team of moderators reviews it before approving or rejecting. Once approved, the change goes live immediately.

Every approved edit is permanently logged in a public edit history on each dropzone's page. You can see exactly what changed, when, and who submitted the correction. This transparency keeps the data accurate and gives the community confidence that the information is current.

Users can also write star-rated reviews of dropzones they've jumped at, leave jump type context (tandem, AFF student, fun jump), and report any data they believe is out of date. The more skydivers contribute, the more complete and accurate the directory becomes.

Who we are

DZSpotter — also written as DZ Spotter, Dropzone Spotter, or Drop Zone Spotter — is the global, community-maintained directory of skydiving dropzones (also known as skydiving drop zones). It is a trading name of Ok Try This Now! Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. We're based in the UK: Southampton and Portsmouth: but built for the global skydiving community. The project was started by a skydiver frustrated by the lack of a good, global dropzone resource, and it's been built entirely by skydivers, for skydivers.

We're a small team, not a corporate platform. We don't have a financial interest in pushing any particular dropzone. Every listing is community-maintained and every edit is reviewed on merit. Our only goal is to make the global skydiving community better informed.
