1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DZSpotter (available at dzspotter.com and dropzonespotter.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Ok Try This Now! Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. They apply to all visitors, registered users, buyers, sellers, and any other person who accesses or uses the platform in any way.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be available at dzspotter.com/terms. Continued use of the service after changes are published constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. About the Service

DZSpotter is a global, community-maintained platform for the skydiving community, operated by Ok Try This Now! Ltd ("we", "us", "our").

The platform provides the following features and services:

  • A searchable directory of skydiving dropzones worldwide with operational details including aircraft, altitude, pricing, and rules.
  • Community-submitted edits to dropzone listings, reviewed and approved by moderators before going live.
  • Star-rated reviews of dropzones, submitted by registered users.
  • A Gear Marketplace enabling peer-to-peer buying and selling of second-hand skydiving equipment.
  • Paid listing boost packages allowing sellers to increase the visibility of their Gear Marketplace listings for a set period.
  • A Gear Recommender quiz providing personalised gear suggestions based on your experience, body weight, and discipline.
  • An events calendar for skydiving events including boogies, competitions, and training camps.
  • A wind tunnel directory with pricing, reviews, and session information.
  • A jump logbook for users to record and display their personal jump history.
  • User profiles, a connection/friends system, and private messaging between users.
  • A dropzone ownership claim system for DZ operators to manage their listings.
  • Advertising placements on the platform, governed by the Advertising Terms in Section 16 of these Terms.

Browsing the directory and reading listings is free. Certain features require a free registered account. Paid features (listing boosts, advertising) are subject to the additional terms in Sections 13 and 16 respectively.

3. User Accounts

To submit edits, write reviews, use messaging, access the Gear Marketplace, log jumps, or use social features, you must create an account using a valid email address or via a supported OAuth provider (e.g. Google).

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at info@dzspotter.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

You agree not to create accounts under false identities, impersonate any person or entity, or use the service for any unlawful purpose.

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without notice. Upon account deletion, your personal data is removed; however, public contributions (approved edits, reviews) may remain attributed to "Deleted User" as part of the permanent directory record.

4. User-Submitted Content

DZSpotter operates on a community-contribution model. Users can suggest edits to dropzone data, write reviews, and submit new dropzone requests. All edit submissions are reviewed by moderators before being published. By submitting any content, you confirm that:

  • The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge and is not deliberately misleading.
  • You have the right to submit it (e.g. it is not copied from a copyrighted source without permission).
  • It does not contain defamatory, abusive, hateful, sexually explicit, or otherwise illegal content.
  • It does not contain spam, advertising, or commercial solicitation unrelated to the purpose of the submission.
  • You grant Ok Try This Now! Ltd a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, modify, and distribute the content for the purposes of operating DZSpotter.

We reserve the right to reject, edit, hide, or permanently remove any submitted content at our sole discretion and without notice.

5. Gear Marketplace

The Gear Marketplace allows registered users ("Sellers") to list second-hand skydiving equipment for sale, and other users ("Buyers") to browse and contact Sellers.

IMPORTANT: DZSpotter is not a party to any transaction.

DZSpotter provides a platform for Buyers and Sellers to connect. We are not a party to, and accept no responsibility for, any transaction, contract, or dispute between Buyers and Sellers. All sales are strictly between the Buyer and Seller. DZSpotter does not hold funds, act as escrow, guarantee delivery, verify item condition, or validate the identity of Sellers.

By using the Gear Marketplace, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Sellers must accurately describe equipment condition, age, size, service history, and any known defects. Misleading listings are a violation of these Terms and may result in account termination.
  • Skydiving equipment is safety-critical. Buyers are solely responsible for verifying that any purchased equipment is airworthy, correctly sized, within service life, and appropriate for their experience level. A certified parachute rigger must inspect all used equipment before it is jumped.
  • Any payment, delivery, inspection, or contractual arrangement is agreed between Buyer and Seller directly. We recommend using traceable payment methods and obtaining proof of postage or delivery.
  • DZSpotter reserves the right to remove any listing at any time without notice, including listings that appear fraudulent, dangerous, or in violation of applicable law or aviation regulations.
  • Listings for counterfeit goods, illegally modified equipment, or items prohibited under applicable law are strictly forbidden.

We strongly recommend that Buyers always inspect gear in person, or have it inspected by an approved rigger, before completing a purchase. If you are a student or inexperienced jumper, consult your instructor or S&TA before purchasing any equipment.

6. Gear Recommender

The Gear Recommender feature provides personalised skydiving gear suggestions based on your answers to a questionnaire.

The Gear Recommender does not constitute professional advice. Recommendations are informational only and are not a substitute for guidance from a qualified instructor, S&TA (Safety and Training Advisor), or certified rigger. Safe canopy sizing depends on many individual factors. Always consult a qualified professional before purchasing or downsizing equipment.

Wing loading calculations and size suggestions are provided as a general guide based on publicly available skydiving safety guidelines. DZSpotter accepts no liability for decisions made on the basis of Gear Recommender output.

7. Messaging and Social Features

DZSpotter provides private messaging between registered users, and a friend/connection system allowing users to connect with other skydivers.

By using these features, you agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
  • Send spam, unsolicited commercial messages, or phishing attempts.
  • Use messaging to arrange or facilitate any illegal activity.
  • Impersonate other users or create fake profiles.

We do not routinely monitor private messages but reserve the right to review messages where a report of abuse is made. Repeated abuse of messaging features will result in account suspension.

Your public profile, connection count, and approved contributions are visible to all users. Your email address is never publicly displayed.

8. Events and Wind Tunnels

DZSpotter hosts a directory of skydiving events and wind tunnel facilities. Event and tunnel listings may be submitted by users or added by our team. By submitting an event or tunnel listing, you confirm that the information is accurate and that you are authorised to represent the event or facility.

DZSpotter does not organise, manage, or take responsibility for any event or wind tunnel session. Event attendance, ticket purchases, and any related arrangements are entirely between the user and the event organiser or tunnel operator. We accept no liability for cancellations, changes, injuries, or losses arising from attendance at any listed event or tunnel session.

We reserve the right to remove event or tunnel listings at any time without notice.

9. Jump Logbook

The jump logbook feature allows users to record personal jump history on their DZSpotter profile. Logbook entries are self-reported and are not verified by DZSpotter or any national governing body. Jump logs are displayed publicly on your profile unless you choose to hide them.

DZSpotter accepts no responsibility for errors in logbook entries or for any reliance placed on them by third parties. Your logbook on DZSpotter does not constitute an official or certified jump record. Always maintain an official paper or certified digital logbook as required by your national governing body.

10. Dropzone Ownership Claims

Dropzone owners or authorised staff may submit a claim to manage their listing on DZSpotter. By submitting a claim, you confirm that you are authorised to represent the dropzone in question.

DZSpotter reviews all claims manually. Submission of a claim does not guarantee approval. We reserve the right to require supporting evidence of authority before granting verified status. False or fraudulent claims are a violation of these Terms and may be reported to relevant authorities.

11. Important Safety Disclaimer

Skydiving is an inherently dangerous activity that can result in serious injury or death.

DZSpotter provides directory information only. All dropzone data, including pricing, altitude, aircraft, rules, and operational status, is submitted by community users and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. You must always verify information directly with the dropzone before making any decisions or travel arrangements. DZSpotter accepts no responsibility for errors, omissions, or reliance on information found on this platform. We strongly recommend consulting licensed instructors, checking with the relevant national governing body (USPA, British Skydiving, APF, etc.), and following all safety regulations that apply in your jurisdiction. Hook turns, canopy swooping, and other advanced techniques may be regulated or prohibited. Always verify local rules before jumping.

12. Intellectual Property

DZSpotter and all associated software, design, branding, and original content created by Ok Try This Now! Ltd are protected by copyright and other applicable intellectual property laws.

The DZSpotter name, logo, and brand are trademarks of Ok Try This Now! Ltd. You may not use them without prior written permission.

Community-contributed content (edits, reviews) is submitted by users under a licence permitting DZSpotter to display and use it for directory purposes. Users retain ownership of content they submit.

You may not scrape, copy, redistribute, or commercialise any content from DZSpotter without our express written permission.

13. Boosts and Paid Visibility

DZSpotter offers optional paid "Boost" packages that increase the visibility of Gear Marketplace listings and Event listings for a fixed period (3, 7, 14, or 30 days). By purchasing a Boost, you agree to the following:

13.1 Payment

  • Payments are processed securely by Revolut Merchant Services. DZSpotter does not store your card details. By completing a payment, you also agree to Revolut's applicable terms and privacy policy.
  • All prices are displayed in GBP. For transactions involving parties outside the UK, currency conversion is handled by the payment processor.

13.2 Activation

  • Boost packages are non-refundable once activated.
  • All Boost purchases require manual review by the DZSpotter team before going live. Upon successful payment, your Boost enters a "pending activation" state. You will receive a confirmation email when your Boost is activated. Activation typically occurs within 24 hours of payment.
  • Only one Boost package can be pending activation at a time per listing or event. A new purchase will be declined if a previous payment is already awaiting admin review.
  • Boost periods run from the time of admin activation and expire automatically at the end of the purchased period.

13.3 Extensions

  • If a Gear Marketplace listing or Event listing already has an active Boost at the time of a new purchase, the new days are added to the end of the existing Boost period. They do not start from the purchase date.
  • Extension payments are subject to the same admin activation flow as new Boosts and are non-refundable once activated.
  • If an extension payment is pending activation and the listing or event is removed for violating these Terms, no refund will be issued.

13.4 Results and removal

  • DZSpotter does not guarantee any specific number of views, enquiries, sales, or registrations as a result of a Boost. Boosted listings and events receive prominent placement but results may vary.
  • If a listing or event is removed by DZSpotter for violating these Terms during an active Boost period, no refund will be issued for the remaining period.
  • No pro-rata refund is given for any Boost period remaining at the time a listing or event is removed or closed.

13.5 Technical issues

  • In the event of a technical failure that prevents a Boost from being activated within 48 hours of payment, please contact info@dzspotter.com. We will investigate and resolve the issue, including issuing a refund if appropriate.

Any disputes relating to payment transactions should be raised with us first at info@dzspotter.com. You may also contact Revolut or your card issuer for payment disputes, but we ask that you give us the opportunity to resolve the issue first.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ok Try This Now! Ltd shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use DZSpotter.
  • Reliance on inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated dropzone information.
  • Any transaction, dispute, or outcome arising from the Gear Marketplace.
  • Decisions made based on Gear Recommender output.
  • Any injury, death, or loss arising from skydiving, wind tunnel sessions, or related activities.
  • Attendance at, or any outcome related to, any event listed on DZSpotter.
  • Any outcome of a Gear Marketplace listing Boost, including failure to sell the listed item.
  • Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability.

Where liability cannot be excluded by law (e.g. for death or personal injury caused by negligence), it is not excluded by these Terms.

15. Third-Party Links and Services

DZSpotter may contain links to third-party websites (such as individual dropzone websites, event pages, or external payment platforms). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, security, or practices of any third-party site. Links do not constitute an endorsement.

We use third-party services including Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Anthropic (third-party processing service used by the Gear Recommender to generate personalised suggestions), and Revolut (payment processing for listing boosts). Each provider's own terms and privacy policy apply to their processing of data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform or its systems.

  • Circumvent any access controls, rate limits, or security measures.
