What Are Cookies?

Cookies We Use

DZSpotter uses only a small number of essential cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies.

Essentialdzspotter_access

Site access cookie. Set when you enter the correct site password on the access page. Tells the server that you are allowed to view the site. This cookie is HTTP-only (cannot be read by JavaScript) and expires after 30 days. Required for the site to function.

Essentialdzspotter_admin

Admin access cookie. Set when an authorised user successfully logs into the admin dashboard. Only present for admin/moderator users. Expires after 30 days.

Essentialsb-* (Supabase auth)

Authentication session cookies. Set by Supabase (our database and authentication provider) when you sign in to DZSpotter. These keep you logged in across page loads. They are required for authentication to function.

What We Do NOT Use

  • We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service.
  • We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies.
  • We do not share cookie data with any third parties for commercial purposes.
  • We do not use social media tracking pixels.

SessionStorage

DZSpotter uses your browser's sessionStorage (not a cookie) to remember your search results when you navigate to a dropzone page and click "back". This data exists only in your browser's memory and is cleared automatically when you close your browser tab. No data from sessionStorage is sent to our servers.

Managing Cookies

Because we only use essential cookies necessary for the site to function, there is no option to opt out of them without preventing basic functionality. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.
