Overview of the British Skydiving Nationals 2026
The British Skydiving National Championships are the top level of domestic competition in the UK. The governing body runs the series each year to decide the national titles. The 2026 meet at Netheravon covers three disciplines: Speed Skydiving, Artistic Events, and 8-Way Formation Skydiving. This leg is hosted at APA Netheravon in Wiltshire. Lift is a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, which gives consistent exits and quick turnarounds across a busy three days.
Disciplines at the 2026 Championships
If you are coming to watch, or thinking about entering a competition for the first time, it helps to know what you are looking at. These three disciplines are very different from each other.
Speed Skydiving
Speed Skydiving is the pursuit of maximum vertical speed. Competitors exit and fly head down to cut drag, and performance is measured across a set vertical window in freefall. The highest average vertical speed across the competition rounds takes the title. Small changes in body position make large differences in the numbers.
Artistic Events (Freestyle and Freeflying)
Artistic Events are split into Freestyle A and B and Freeflying A and B. Teams fly choreographed routines with transitions, multi axis rotations and synchronised movement. In Freeflying the team is two performers plus a camera flyer, and the camera flyer is judged as a full member of the team. Routines are scored on execution, creativity and technical difficulty.
FS 8-Way
Formation Skydiving in the 8-Way category needs eight jumpers and a camera flyer. The team exits the Caravan and builds a set sequence of formations inside a fixed working time. Points go on each correct formation built in the correct order. Getting eight people flying in time with each other is hard, which is part of why 8-Way is good to watch from the ground.
Important Dates and Registration Deadlines
The date people most often get wrong is the registration deadline rather than the competition itself. Check it against your own entry before you plan anything else.
The competition runs from Saturday 12 September to Monday 14 September 2026. The event briefing is at 0800 on the Saturday, and competition jumping starts at 0800 each day. The award ceremony is at 1700 on Monday 14 September, though it may run earlier if the competition finishes sooner.
You cannot register on the day. All entries close in advance.

- Speed and FS 8-Way registration deadline: 1700 on Wednesday 9 September 2026.

Entry Fees and Jump Costs
Fees are per person and are the same across all three disciplines this year.

One thing worth knowing, because it differs from the 4-Way Nationals at Hibaldstow. Teams at Netheravon are not paying for all anticipated competition jumps upfront. You are charged at the end of the competition, and only for the jumps actually completed. If weather or anything else stops a round going ahead, you are not charged for it.
British Skydiving have also noted that the APA may need to add a fuel surcharge to jump tickets. They are reviewing that month by month, so check the bulletin before you budget.
Aerodyne Icon Containers
Aerodyne Icon containers are permitted at this competition, provided all applicable mandatory modifications have been completed. Venue Information and Facilities at APA Netheravon
APA Netheravon, also known as Skydive Netheravon, is the home of the Army Parachute Association. It sits at Airfield Camp, Netheravon, near Salisbury, SP4 9SF, on Salisbury Plain. There is more on their year round operation on the official APA Netheravon site.
There are bunkhouses on site and the campsite is free to use. Dirt dive areas, mock ups and creepers are available for teams working on exits and sequences on the ground.
